Lately

Lately it seems like I'm constantly apologizing for being absent from this here blog.
Things have been crazy around here.
At 10 pm, the Sunday before I left on vacation we got a call from our Realtor saying that our offer had been accepted. Scott and I have been looking for over a year and after about 12 offers this was the first that had been accepted. Not the ideal timing, but Scott promised to handle the inspections while I was gone. Then Friday came and the home inspector basically told us that the house was a money pit. Remember that movie.
So the excitement was short lived and after thinking about it some more we were happy that we were able to pull out of the deal and still get our deposit money back.
 The house hunt continues.
After I got back from vacation I was home for 3 days and then off to Austin for work. Had a great time at an amazing dueling piano bar on Sixth Street. Who doesn't love dueling pianos!?

Visited the Capital

And tried on these heavenly beauties. I didn't buy them in Austin, but they are still on my mind so I might be doing the free shipping option so we can be together forever.
Happy Birthday to me...maybe....

Do we like the grey and turquoise or black and brown here. The black and brown are probably more versatile, but there is something about that grey and turquoise. What do you ladies think?

Now I'm back for the week and then off to Portland for my BIRTHDAY and a little bit of work on Monday. I can't believe it is already October and my birthday is just 4 days away. I have to work on Monday so Scott and I decided to make a weekend out of it and head up early and visit some fantastic breweries and food trucks. It's always nice when half of the trip is paid for by my work. Weehoo!

Can I tell you an uber cute story real quick?
When I flew back from Austin last week, Scott said he'd come pick me up, cause I'm a baby and don't want to sit on bart for an hour and a half. As I was walking out of the gates I was remembering the last time he had picked me up from the airport. I  had been in New York for work and that day, I had worked 9 hours before jumping on a 5.5 hour plane ride home. I was so exhausted and delirious that I didn't even see him waiting for me at the security area. And as I relived that memory in my head, there he was at the security area once again, with flowers in his hands. How'd I get so lucky?

I'm hoping to be around a lot more lately, so thanks for sticking with me lovelies!

  1. aww what a cute story!!!!

and it's good that you pulled out of that deal; money pit houses are NO FUN because the money goes fast. my friend built a house on a bad piece of land (sloped) and they didn't even think twice about it until the first heavy rainfall.... and their house was basically sitting in the center of the drainage area!!
