Weekending

It's hard for me to say "Happy Monday" when I'm never really happy about a Monday. But nevertheless, here we are and this little space makes Monday just a tad easier.
Linking up with Biana for the weekend deets.
Friday night Scott and I had a slumber party with niece. We picked her up and took her straight to Mexican food as requested. As she was eating, the kid choked on a chip and proceeded to start to turn red in her face. She was grasping for her water and lemonade and still couldn't get it to go down.  To say that we panicked would be an understatement, Scott was patting her back and then eventually she gagged (gross I know, but thank G for this kid's sensitive gag reflex). The color came back and she ended up being just fine. Fine enough to joke about what had just happened so we could send a picture to her mom.

After that we dragged her to Ikea to pick up our second chair for the living room and share an ice cream.  We also bought her a little mini bake set with a cookie tin, cookie cutters, a mini bundt tin and rolling pin.

After Ikea, we went home and watched a movie. I fell asleep before Ayla and she and Scott woke me up when it was bedtime.

Saturday morning we headed to my parents house to bake some brownies with Ayla's new bake set. She put on her little apron and we got to work. I think she was more excited about licking the beater than anything else.

That afternoon my mom and I took the little munchkin to see Paddington and I loved it... Probably more than Ayla.

Saturday night Scott and I met up with my bestie and her husband for drinks. I failed at taking photos once again! Hate when I do that, but we had a fantastic time. After drinks Scott and I went to sushi to end a pretty wonderful Saturday.

Sunday I woke and found my new little blogging corner and I'm pretty in love.

Sunday afternoon I hopped in the car to go to my friend's Sip and See baby shower. It's an after birth shower complete with Champagne...great idea!! I haven't seen my friend Cassie in almost 3 years and it was so wonderful to see her and her adorable little.

Geez, that was one busy weekend!
Hope you all had a great one!

  4. Holy Moly that was a busy weekend indeed, but it’s amazing how much longer (and busier) it seems when you start it off right on Friday. I completely matched your weekend in busy-ness that is for sure, complete with a kid/gag/barf incident of my own (Twins!) We had a pre-birthday dinner for B with his college roommate, wife and one kid who apparently was not having it when they went to drop him at the sitters. Kid had a serious 50 year old man cough that at one point gagged him enough to produce some “spit up” (which I think is just moms’ way of putting throw-up nicely) and just as the waitress had pulled up with our order. Delightful!

You’re cozy corner looks great, and maybe this will be your incentive to keep up the blogging! Yay! Oh and I had a movie date too (we saw American Sniper- fantastic BTW). Sooooo to recap, we are totally twinning again with our weekend. We both started off right away on Friday, me w/ my car purchase, you with your chair purchase. Saturday we met up with B’s bestie like you did with yours, we both saw a show and we both had a gagging kid encounter! Craaazy!

  7. Your niece is such a cutie - but seriously, I would have dropped or hyperventilated right there if that happened. I do not always work well under pressure, but I'm so glad she's okay.
I LOVE your blog corner - such a cute setup that looks like it'll be the perfect inspiration!
And don't worry about not taking pictures - I always get bummed about that, but then realize that it's because I was living in the moment :)

  11. Ayla is looking so much like Tali in these photos! I can't believe how grown up she is - where has time gone?! I remember her baby shower like it wasn't even that long ago. We definitely need to become better about taking pictures! I need to love this face that I won't have in 10 years! ;)
