Let's get right into my goals for 2015
Happy New Year!!
Hope you all had a wonderful and safe holiday!

Let's get right into my goals for 2015

{Eat Less Gluten}
My mom was diagnosed with celiac disease about 2 years ago and when we went on our girls trip I experience first hand how hard it is to live with celiacs.  I didn't realize how awful of a disease it was until my mom was diagnosed. If it is left untreated and a person keeps eating gluten it can lead to MS, diabetes, infertility/miscarriage, neurological disorders and intestinal cancers. My grandmother died of colon cancer back before anyone really knew anything about celiac. So quite honestly I'm a little scared and gluten really isn't good for you so why not really reduce the amount that I eat.  I think the hardest part for me is going to be the sweets and pastries. Although I've found some delicious GF chocolate chip cookies that we eat all the time and more and more stores, bakeries and restaurants are providing gluten free options.

{Bring lunch to work more often}
I find that when I don't bring my lunch I eat garbage so bringing my lunch will alleviate that problem.

{Learn to use my DSLR in manual mode}
I think I may have had this same goal last year as well and I'm adding it again. I'm actually thinking I should find myself some sort of course at a community center or something to get this ball rolling. I have no excuse seeing as how I've had my big girl camera for 2 years now.
{Give up the envy and stop comparing}
I'm sure a lot of us suffer from this issue. I think the most important thing is to be happy with your life and your present. Don't compare your life to anyone else's because everyone has their own struggles.

{Get in touch with my spirit}
I'm not sure how to explain this one but I think you all know what I mean. I feel like the hustle and bustle of work and just life in general sometimes takes us away from our "self" and our individual spirit. We spend so much time just getting through it all and we tend to lose our sense of self. So my goal is to pay more attention to my spirit. I think that I'll start listening to guided meditations and I'd really like to try integrating yoga into my routine as well.  I feel it is really important to check in with yourself and make sure that you are tending to your "self". I think it is the key to happiness and contentment in life.

And I'll leave you with a little wish for your year as well.

  1. OMG I had no idea being a celiac could lead to so many other issues. That's pretty frightening! I think I need to cut back on my gluten. I definitely need to learn how to use my DSLR in manual mode too! Great goals girl!

  12. The envy thing is a killer for me. I have been through so many shitty things in recent years it's really hard not to get jealous over some of my friends seemingly perfect lives and bottomless bank accounts. But... I am getting better as I see how much more fulfilling my life is by just keeping it very simple. No more envy!!!

  13. My hope for you (and me as well, since we're the same person) is that you are not only successful in these resolutions but that they naturally become your way of being, especially the 'Give up the envy and stop comparing' and 'Get in touch with my spirit'. These are solid goals and will only enrich your/my life :)

    Also, I hope this new year is far better than any before and not because the amount of trials and tribulations will be less but b/c you/I will have a far better outlook and perspective on life to realize what matters most, and the knowledge to recognize that we cannot change certain things but can most certainly change our reaction to them....so here's to the biggest challenge: getting inside our own heads and tweaking things just a tad so that our world looks sunnier even on hazy days.
