Happy Friggen Humpday!! So glad to be back and linking up with Kathy! Let's get started!
I confess....
When my boss handed me that business card that said Project Manager I was like
And then he told me the salary
I was not happy with that first offer, not at all.
I sat on the news for the weekend and came in Monday morning and requested a meeting. Everything is negotiable. Always always give a counter offer.
Which is exactly what I did and we discussed it and came to a place that we were both happy.
On that same note, my first week as a PM, was the worst week ever.
Obviously it showed since I haven't made an appearance here in over a week! I'm pretty sure I did not sign up for 11-12 hour days everyday. Nope, Nope and Nope. What a shitty time to lose my overtime. I mean quite honestly my roll hasn't changed, I just have the title finally. You know what makes it even crappier? Because of said work hours I haven't been to barre in a week and a half!
I was pretty much heartbroken over all of the soccer matches this weekend. Started with the biggest heartbreak of all. Iran losing to Argentina in the last minute of stoppage time. I hate Messi right about now. I'm seriously so proud of this team, they played an amazing game and I would have been so happy with a draw. Then Germany and USA both tying games they should have won. And then Italy getting knocked out by the biters of Uruguay yesterday. What is going on?!? Let's all say a little prayer that Iran pulls out a win this morning. Pretty please.
Little history, this is the old Persian flag, from before it became the Islamic Republic. I prefer this one :)
I'm really going to try to be better about getting back in the swing of things over here, but just need the craziness that is work, to let go of this chokehold. Thank God it's humpday!
congrats on the title and for standing up for your salary. most people would sheepishly accept it and complain later but i don't believe anyone should do that! companies will ALWAYS lowball you. once this company tried to offer me an offensive salary and i laughed and said "you're kidding me, right??". ain't nobody got time fo' dat!!
i hear you on the crazy work days; these past 2wks have been like that for me - legit 11-12hrs and i'm just about to shoot myself in the face.
The Italy v Uruguay game got a mention on my confession post too! Well done you on the getting a title and fighting for a salary you're happy with, but the long working hours must suck :( Hope that isn't something that's gonna stick around!
Congrats on the promotion! As for the Iran v Argentina game, I was pleasantly surprised that Iran held them off, it was unfortunate to concede a goal so close to the end... the only thing that I've seen so far which is probably as heartbreaking was when Ivory Cost lost to Greece in the last 30 seconds of the game last night and I'm not necessarily supporting Ivory Coast ...
Congrats on the title and getting a better salary! That's great that you didn't take what they first offered you. Hopefully you get some time to blog soon :)
Congrats on the title and being able to negotiate a better salary! That's the best!!! And I hear ya on the whole not having enough time to workout deal...ugh work has been so crazy!!!

Congrats on PM! Sounds like you and I have been int he same boat lately...all work and no play. Look forward to hopefully I good post on my side soon. Trying to get a few free moments to really sit down and right up a good one. Good luck to you and hopefully everything starts to calm down after awhile!!
Woohoo, get that money!! I hope work lightens up. I never work out if I work 10+ hours, which is not often, but it happens. There is not enough time for all that work + sleep + anything else.
