Weekender- Mother's Day edition

I do realize that it is Thursday and I'm very late on my Weekender post but I decided to not only take a little vacation from work but also from social media all together for a few days. It went by so fast it almost feels like it didn't happen.

For Mother's day weekend I decided to take my mom, sister, niece and nephew down to Orange County for a little well deserved beach getaway for all of us. Ayla hasn't been on an airplane since she was about a year old so she was super excited about this trip.

I booked us a room at the Embassy Suites so we could enjoy nightly happy hour and morning breakfasts at the hotel. Who doesn't love free happy hour and breakfast?!

Sunday we headed straight for Laguna to Crystal Cove for a nice day in the sun.

Apparently in my 30 years of life I haven't learned to put sunscreen on the second my toes hit the sand. I waited 30 minutes to pus sunscreen on and the damage was done. Lobster central. It doesn't look bad here but later that night it was awful.

Sunday night we took my mom to the Bluewater Grill because she was feeling like Halibut. The food turned out to be pretty good, not fantastic but we enjoyed it.

On Monday "Queen Ayla" found Nana's sarong and decided it was her queen cape and proceeded to spend hours on our balcony making it blow in the wind. And when it wasn't blowing in the wind she was running through the hotel glancing back to make sure it was flying.

After this we headed down to my favorite little boutique in Laguna called Daisy Blue. I love all of their jewelry and clothes. I would take one of everything in this store if I could. This is where Scott got my "Breathe" Bracelet.

This time around I got myself this black jumper

And this chevron beaded belt to go with it.

After a little shopping we headed to lunch with these cuties and then on to our final few hours on the beach.

Me and Idean enjoying some happy hour at the hotel.

Our weekend turned out to be pretty perfect (minus the Jetblue mishap that you read about yesterday). It was so wonderful to enjoy some precious time with my mom, sis and the kids. Mother's are truly amazing women and I don't know how they do what they do but I'm so thankful to have my mom and that we are so incredibly close. And my beautiful sister makes motherhood look so easy. Her patience and strength are immeasurable and she is truly a modern day superhero.

Such a wonderful weekend with so many great memories. Hope you all had a great weekend. Only 2 more days til the next one! Yipee for short weeks!
