For the past 4 years I have been taking my birthday off of work, but last year I didn't put the request in and was so inundated with projects that I ended up working. What a mistake!! I vowed that I would never do it again. So with perfect birthday spirit I took the day off to enjoy MY day with my people. Scott and I started the day off with with breakfast at Corners Bakery in Pleasant Hill before heading up to Lake Tahoe. On the way up we decided we should check off one of my 30 before 30 items so we stopped at Pyramid Creek trailhead to hike Horsetail "Falls" (which was technically closed).

I say "falls" because unfortunately there were none to speak of. It was more of a trickling stream. I should have known better, I've been going up to Tahoe at least one a year for my whole life, of course it wasn't running in early fall...duh! Even though the falls were minimal the sites were gorgeous and it was pretty much just the two of us out there in the wilderness. Here are a few shots from our little adventure.

The day didn't end there; Scotty made us reservations for dinner at Edgewood on the Lake. Had I not packed our day full of little adventures we could have had the 5:30 reservation (as Scott and the hostess suggested) but I was completely content watching the sunset from the cabin before heading to our 7:30 reservation. 

Dinner was just as you'd expect from a place like Edgewood, absolutely spectacular. From the wine, to the french onion soup, to the melt in your mouth filet mignon. Perfect birthday dinner with perfect company. Thanks to my beau Scott for a wonderful 30th birthday and weekend! He made sure that everything I wanted on my birthday I had and I'm truly lucky to have him as my partner in crime.
