30!! - Round 2

After a fabulous birthday dinner with my Scotty we arrived back at our cabin and patiently awaited the arrival of Carla (my Thing 2) and her Beau (Marty McFly).

There we are Thing 1and Thing 2
They arrived at around 10:30 and we chitchatted, like all girls do, until 1 am before we decided it was time to hit the hay to get ready for the big day ahead. Waking up to the lake is always breathtaking and absolutely amazing. I woken up to this view my whole life and it never gets old, I can sit here for hours.

Started off with breakfast at RedHut while we waited for Janis and Kathleen, my favorite Davis girls, to arrive. Once they showed up it was time to crack open a bottle of champagne and you better believe it was time to "saber that thing"! Unfortunately, I wasn't as confident as I should have been from the start, but at least you can tell it was definitely my first time! (Special thanks to my awesome narrator!! He should be a sports broadcaster or something huh?)

I have to say the feeling was absolutely exhilarating, I never want to open a champagne bottle any other way! Here are my very important tips. 1) The bottle needs to be chilled, like in the freezer chilled. 2) Use the dull side of the sword or knife ;) 3) Find the seam on the bottle, that is where you are going to slice upward toward the neck. 4) Believe in yourself and go for it!

Next up it was time to, of course, drink the champagne, but to also open the Apple Pie Moonshine that my aunt Dy got me. Here we are:

Girls will be girls and we spend most of the afternoon gabbing and catching up, so we decided to just get ready in our "out" clothes and head to the casino's for some good gambling.

My vice of choice, roulette.  Advice for this, 19 to 36 is a great bet. And stick with your numbers; mine were 32 and 19. 19 hit twice and 32 hit once. Winning!!! Oh, pictures aren't aloud and neither is touching the marker. Maybe if they didn't serve alcohol at the table things like this wouldn't happen. ;)

After an hour and a half of roulette, 3 champagnes and one black chip later, it was time to retire my tangerine chips and head to our dinner reservations.

Originally Mr. Scott O had made us reservations at the boathouse because that's what I said I wanted. We arrived at the boathouse and I decided it was time for a burger, no burger on the menu. It's my party and I can do what I want; so we set out for some good old fashion burgers. Stateline brewery it is, keepin' it nice and classy.  Thing 2, the wonderful thing that she is, brought me a beautiful cake for dessert. On the top it said "Happy Birthday Shenine" and on the side, "Here's to the next 30!" Loved that touch. And not only did she get me a cake but a rockin' birthday candle to go with it. Check it out.

After a very successful night we headed home for a good old fashioned game of battle of the sexes. Thing 2 and I rocked it, the boys weren't too shabby either. All in all, birthday day #3 a success!!

Sunday morning, we made breakfast at the cabin before J and K headed back home. And Carla and I took a little walk in the meadow and along the lake while the boys watched football. Scotty and I decided to make the most of our time in Tahoe and enjoyed the view until 5 when we decided to head back to reality.

I really want to give a very very heartfelt thank you to this great group of girls. Kathleen is my Davis "yes" girl! I can always count on her to be in for a good time and bring the smiles and love. My dear Janis is getting married this coming weekend (Congratulations Janis and Matt!!) and even though it was her last weekend before the wedding she made her way up to celebrate with me. My Thing 2! My soul sister, my twin on the inside. She always delivers the most heart felt gifts and adds her own touches to make you feel special on your day. I love you girls and couldn't have asked for a better group to celebrate with.

And we can't forget the gents! I already thanked Mr. Scotty O, but I'll thank him again for always supporting me in everything I do and making sure that my birthday weekend was perfect and so special. Beauregard! I forgot how dang funny you are! HA! Man, love all his stories and his impersonations of Thing 2. Priceless.

Booses,
