Good Morning and Happy Monday
If you can believe it, I'm still fighting this damn cold so for the most part I was at home doing a few little projects around the house and then watching TV in my downtime.
My first project was painting this little nightstand that I've had forever. I think it was an Ikea purchase but I've had for so long I can't remember for sure. Hopefully in the near future we'll get new nightstands but for now I decided it could be my next DIY.
First thing I did was give it a good sanding. The nightstand is a laminate but you can still sand it down to help the paint stick. I should note that I've never done this so I have no idea if this is the correct way to paint a nightstand.
Then I took the handles off and went to town on the painting.
I gave it about 3 coats of paint, letting it dry for about an hour and a half between coats. Yes, I'm completely lazy and did not empty the drawers.
And here is the finished product! I think it looks fabulous. I wanted to replace the pulls but the pulls I had were the wrong size, so the old pulls went back on for now .
In between coats I decided to pot the hyacinth and tulips that Scott bought me in my favorite (and only) flower pot that I got for Christmas. Isn't it beautiful!
Sunday Scott and I went downtown to try a new breakfast spot that ended up being delicious. Our plan was to just sit on the couch and watch TV all day but we ended up having a little fire drill in the garage.
We have a detached garage that needs some seriously work. Eventually we'd like to make it Scott's man cave but for now it's just storage. Over the last month we've noticed that a skunk might be coming and going in the garage. Yuck. We found his entry point where the siding on the garage has basically been eaten away. On top of that our dump neighbor behind us left his hose on and all the water came gushing through the hole and into the garage....great. So instead of relaxing we ended up doing some work, mostly trying to just keep the skunk out of the garage. We ended up buying some chicken wire and plywood and covering up his little front door. There is a ton of work that needs to happen in that garage but hopefully it'll be free of skunks until we can fix it up.
I also brought home a bunch of carpet samples from work and laid them down so his man cave stuff can be protected from the elements.
This man cave is going to be quite the project when we get to it. Ughh.
We finished off the weekend with pizza and the Grammy's.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Oh no! I can't believe you still aren't feeling well! I hope you kick that cold soon girl. And your nightstand looks awesome! The white is perfect! Happy Monday!
