I can't believe I missed my visit to the confessional last week.
Here I am to make up for it this week.
Last week I think I sprained/hyper-extended my wrist. Bet you can't guess how I did this?
TRYING ON SHOES!
Good Lord, how ridiculous is that. I was either pulling a shoe on or off and I heard a little pop and then pain. No swelling or bruising but there was pain. And here I am almost a week later and I still hurts a little.
I confess, I was never a fan of Birks in the first place so them coming back is not very exciting for me. I mean if Birks are coming back they might as well bring fanny packs back as well...
And you know what, when I was looking for this photo, I saw this one...not half bad.
Ok, last confession. I used to work in the shoe department at Nordstrom during college; yes dangerous business. I developed some annoyances with people and their shoes. Why can't people just buy their size?!? Women buy shoes that are too small and then wonder why they have bunions. The other thing that bugs the hell out of me is when you see someone wearing platform sandals and they are sliding so far forward into the front of the shoe that their toes are hanging on for dear life like a claw.
Ok, I feel better.

when you say birks, do you mean birkenstocks? BECAUSE I LOVE THOSE. not the original, ugly, brown 2-strap ones but the fancy thong ones that come in different colors.
ReplyDeletealso, fanny packs can be stylish too! i have a gucci one that i wear and i love it! i just wish it were a tad bigger so i can stuff more things into it.
thanks for linking up!

Vodka and Soda
haha I drink way less alcho now as well and unless Im going out I dont drink the glass of wine I used to in the evening. Strictly water now! It helps over time I promise.
ReplyDeleteSo I have a confession - I don't hate the trendier Fanny Packs, like the Gucci and Louis ones (DUH lol) - but the DARE one, NO!!
ReplyDeleteI hate Birks too... I really do. I hated them back then, hate them now. And I said I was going to stop drinking alcohol during the week too... then I had a glass of champagne last night. SO #fail. I really need to stick to that now that it's fall and football season though!

HAHA yes! Birks need to stay in the past. Along with Clark wallabees (sp?) do you remember those? Or was that just a Alabama thing?
ReplyDeletehahahaha you made me laugh with the shoes part. people are weird. i have bought shoes that are smaller than my normal size but still fit, and i dont have bunions thank goodness. your poor wrist!! and i am not a fan of birks at all :-|
ReplyDeleteHold the phone....I feel like your confessions today are a direct attack on me. ha! I mean, the Birkenstock dis just as I was perusing Zappos for a second pair and then the fanny pack insults, I mean have you seen the Chanel one's?! YES PLEASE! If I get my hands on a Chanel fanny, I'm rocking it always (and especially in your company just to prove a point!) and then to top it off with the women who purchase shoes too small. ME! You might as well have named this post after me. In my defense here, you're right. Shoes too small look bad but shoes too big, ugh it's like nails on a chalkboard to me!
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting a pair of Birkenstocks! The cute ones, which may be debatable haha. They just look so easy and comfortable. I must be getting old...
ReplyDeletewait so as a shoe saleslady, what would make their feet sliding off hanging on for dear life? are they buying a size to big? lol
ReplyDeleteOMG I haaaate the fucking toe claw! It's so gross!
ReplyDeleteI can't control myself with apples and peanut butter. Liiiiiittle slice of apple, biiiiig spoonful of peanut butter.
